Black History Month: TKO
On this last day of #BlackHistoryMonth, TKO is celebrating our own place in Black trans and queer history. Thanks for your support that has helped us grow over the last 13 years!
With its roots in one of human rights history’s most impactful cities, TKO broke ground in 2012 as a Black trans-led Alabama based non-profit providing non-clinical healthcare. By 2017, Alabama’s first AIDS Service Organization and STD/STI clinic founded and led by Black trans and queer people. Grounded by our Selma roots and inspired by the history of our Montgomery home, we continue to build power for Black trans people across the South by serving the communities that we come from, and assuring that Black trans people thrive now and in the future.
BLACK IS... Beautiful. Bold. Confident. Strong. Creativity. Math. Space. Culture. Courageous. A weapon against white supremacy. Caring. Outstanding. Infinity. EVERYTHING.
Black is the blueprint. Period.
Happy #BlackHistoryMonth from TKO!
